About Justo Vera
Justo Vera-Ayestarán is a professional with more than 25 years of experience in the areas of Architecture and Interior Design. His professional international prestige includes work in Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil, Costa Rica and the United States. His process of continuing education has included studies in Taoist philosophy, which has focused on research into Feng Shui and its use in the design of modern constructions, both commercial and residential.
As an architect, Vera-Ayestarán has developed serious studies on the influence of environmental factors in health recovery and the use of Feng Shui and Environmental Psychology on Clinical and Hospital spaces.
Due to his studies linking environmental factors with the aging process and his investigations into Alzheimer’s disease, he has been invited to lecture at Florida International University, the Florida Alzheimer Association, the Alliance for the Elderly, the National Exchange Club, Jackson Memorial Hospital (University of Miami), and the Miami-Dade College School of Architecture.
In December of 1998, he established a working relationship with NASA’s Human Life Sciences Division, concerning the evaluation of the results of Space Shuttle Discovery’s STS-95 mission, which carried out experiments with Sen. John Glenn regarding human aging processes.
In March of 1999, he was invited by the China Cultural Research Association and attended a specialization course at the University of Nanjing, China, on “The Historical and Theoretical Development of Feng Shui,” and “The Advanced Use of the Lo-Pan, the Traditional Chinese Compass.”
On numerous occasions, Vera-Ayestarán has appeared on the following television programs: Univision’s “Despierta America,” “Telemundo’s “De Mañanitas,” and TeleMiami’s “La Revista.” He served for one year as the Feng Shui content provider for Univision.com. He is often invited to participate in radio programs from diverse stations in South Florida.
For six years until 2011, he co-hosted, along with the late Prof. Santiago Aranegui, a radio program on Feng Shui, on Radio Mambi, 710 AM, in Miami, Florida. In March 2011, Justo organized the first international artisanal cheese festival in the Southeastern United States, The Cheese Connection at Miami, held at the Miami Airport Convention Center.
He is a member of the International Interior Design Association and shares his time as a professional consultant and in the permanent teaching of Feng Shui in various South Florida cities.
